The Herd In The City public art trail brought together the creative talents of Essex artists, schools and community groups to transform 46 large elephant sculptures and 72 baby elephants into amazing works of art.

These sculptures were displayed throughout Southend-on-Sea, Shoeburyness and Leigh-on-Sea during the summer of 2023, all in support of Havens Hospices, a much-loved local charity.

We are delighted to have sponsored the Herd In The City art trail through two initiatives. As well as adopting and sponsoring our very own large elephant, Rock n’ Glow , the Rickard Luckin Education Team was the project’s Learning Programme Partner , sponsoring the Learning Programme which invited schools , colleges, and community groups to take part in the fun, and adopt and design their own baby elephant sculpture.

We are proud to be involved in an initiative that complements our ethos and values at Rickard Luckin. It’s important to us that we support the community in which we live and work and there is no doubt that the project had a very positive impact on inspiring and motivating our young people, all while supporting the vital charity work of Havens Hospices.

Watch our video to find out more about our involvement and what we’ve been up to so far.

As sponsors of Rock n’ Glow, we offered trail goers a chance to win a limited-edition print by our sponsored sculpture’s designer and artist Neil Fendell , which was created exclusively for users of the Herd In The City app. Thank you to everyone who found Rock n’ Glow and unlocked the reward, and well done to our 100 winners.
