In September, we bid a fond farewell to the 118 large and baby elephant sculptures that made up this year’s Herd In The City public art trail, in aid of Havens Hospices .
It's been an unforgettable summer in Southend for our team and we were incredibly proud to be Learning Programme Partner of the initiative. As specialists in the education sector, sponsoring the Learning Programme presented us with a fantastic opportunity to further support local schools and community groups as well as help a beloved local charity, all while giving back to the vibrant City of Southend, where part of our firm’s history finds its roots.
The Herd In The City project featured a variety of activities, from the captivating art trail to the unforgettable farewell weekend and auction of the impressive elephant sculptures, and we were delighted to congratulate the 100 winners of our Herd In The City app reward competition, who will each be receiving a limited-edition Neil Fendell print over the next few weeks.
Collaboration was at the heart of this initiative, and we were honoured to work with fellow partners and sponsors who shared our support of Havens Hospices. A staggering £580,000 was raised in total, making a significant impact on the lives of local children, young people, adults, and their families when they needed it the most.
Kate Bell , People Director and Head of Education said: "We believe that by enhancing educational experiences we can inspire the next generation and create positive opportunities in our community, and our involvement as the Learning Programme Partner for the Herd In The City project allowed us to take our commitment to the next level. It was a wonderful opportunity to support local schools and community groups. We're proud to have been part of this initiative and to work alongside our fellow partners and sponsors, all of whom share our passion for giving back to the City of Southend.”
